Dulcimer Band Píšťalenka
The history of the Píšťalenka dulcimer band dates back to 1999, when several pupils of the Basic Art School in Mikulov started playing together, more for their own amusement.
What happened next?
In the beginning they were helped by the expert advice of Jiří Vrbka and Karel Martiš. The band occasionally took part in performances of FE Pálava and several times accompanied contestants at the children's singing competition “Mikulovský zpěváček”. In 2001 several members left to study in Brno and the band suspended its activities until the fateful trip to Bulgaria in 2004. Since then the band has rehearsed regularly, and in 2007 it took over the accompaniment of the dance groups of FE Pálava from the former CM Pálava.
Today Píšťalenka has five permanent members.
